Lauryn Bodden is a founder, recipe developer, culinary producer, and private chef based in Manhattan, New York.
Lauryn grew up in southern Florida, but don’t hold that against her. She played Division I soccer at Southern Methodist University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. Her love and passion for cooking and food eventually steered her to a summer abroad in London, studying for her honors thesis on the global food systems, while interning at fine dining restaurant in Borough Market. After writing for a number of outlets including D Magazine’s Side Dish, she packed her bags for the Big Apple to make it big (or she hoped).
Upon moving to New York City, she joined one of the world’s largest hospitality PR & Marketing agencies working with major hotel, spirit, and culinary brands. During that time, she attended culinary school at the Institute of Culinary Education, expanding her knowledge of the culinary and hospitality industry. Over the years, Lauryn worked her way around the line in professional kitchens for both pastry and savory. She eventually found her way to cookbook author and tv host, Gail Simmons, working as an executive and culinary assistant. In this role, Lauryn combined her knowledge of recipe development, food styling, social marketing, brand partnerships, and menu development.
From there she worked as an editor & head food stylist for a major meal kit before joining The Spruce Eats as a food editor. These days Lauryn works as a freelance recipe developer, culinary producer, and editor for various verticals and brands.
She recently competed (and WON!) Netflix’ newest cooking competition Snack vs Chef, which pushed her to launch her very on snack brand: S’noods. When she isn’t hustling to build her snack empire, she spends time in front of the camera as talent for how-to videos and recipe tutorials. Additionally, you can find Lauryn working as a private chef for The Sailing Collective charters taking sail around the world.
